Terms of use

Written to be read. If something in here does not seem right, say so before buying — open a ticket and we will talk about it.

What you are buying

You are buying a licence to use, not the software. The code stays ours; you get the right to run it on your servers, for the number of servers stated at purchase, with no expiry.

  • You can install it, configure it and use it on a server you own or administer.
  • You can keep backup copies.
  • You cannot resell it, redistribute it, share the file or the licence code outside your servers, or work around the checks that separate the free version from the paid one.

Free, freemium, premium

Three levels, and the difference is concrete:

  • Free — everything the plugin does, with no limits and no licence.
  • Freemium — one file only. Without a licence it runs the free version, with the limits written on the product page; the code switches the Premium features on. Anyone can download the file precisely because the free version is a real one.
  • Premium and extensions — there is no trial version, and the file is not publicly downloadable. You download it from the customer area, or ShadowControl installs it inside your server.

Updates

Updates within the same major version are included, at no extra cost and with no subscription. Every published file carries its own SHA-256 fingerprint, written on the product page: you can check that what you downloaded is exactly what we published.

No update is mandatory. Forcing a restart on a server full of players is something you do for a security hole, not for a new version.

Compatibility

The suite is built for Paper 26.2 & 26.3 and runs on Minecraft 1.26.2 & 1.26.3 and Java 25. It may work on other distributions, but we do not promise it and we do not rely on them for support. A plugin marked “in development” or “alpha” cannot be bought yet, and that is written on its page.

Revocation

A licence can be revoked if it is shared or resold, or if the payment is reversed after delivery. Revocation switches the Premium features off: the server keeps running on the free version, it does not stop and it does not lose data.

Support

Support goes through tickets, from the customer area or from the game with ShadowControl. It covers installation, configuration, plugin defects and incompatibilities we can reproduce. It does not cover writing bespoke configurations, problems with your hosting, or conflicts with third-party plugins we cannot test.

Refunds

If a plugin does not work as described on its page and we cannot fix it, we refund it. If it works but is not what you needed, we can talk about it — though the free version of the freemium products exists precisely so you can try before buying.

Limits of liability

The software is provided as is. We run automated tests before every release — tens of thousands of checks on a real server — but no test rules out every defect. Keep your own backups: that holds for our plugins as for anything else running on your server.

Changes

If these terms change substantially, anyone holding an active licence is told. The conditions of a licence you already bought do not get worse retroactively.

An honest note. This text describes faithfully how the platform works, but it was not written by a lawyer. Before selling starts it needs the seller’s identifying details and a review by a professional, together with the privacy notice.
